I'm Marla Love

Movement has always been an integral part of Marla’s life. After studying ballet at the school of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, she joined Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal and later danced with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. In 1998 Marla discovered Yoga, and while studying and teaching she completed over 12 yoga certifications in various styles from restorative practices to more vigorous Ashtanga.

After recognizing her passion for helping people destress and feel free in their bodies, Marla continued to study so that she could empower her clients with more effective tools to stay healthy. She went on to study the Franklin Method, Pilates, ELDOA™ and most recently became a Buteyko Breath Educator.

With over 25 years of experience, and a passion for helping her clients move better, Marla is a lifelong learner and continues to evolve and grow as a teacher. She teaches in a way that lays out an education, thus empowering her clients and students to achieve a level of self care that approaches mastery.

My Story

After a career in dance, I thought staying healthy as I aged and raised a family was a going to be easy. Then once I started having to juggle family and work priorities, my dreams of a healthy, happy life started to seem out of reach.

I felt frustrated and helpless, but I had worked too hard to let my dreams slip away. I dove into physical literacy and came up with a system that allowed me to eliminate pain, remain mobile, and get stronger and healthier than ever before. Now I empower others on their journey to physical freedom.

Why I Do It

Physical literacy is not a term I ever heard growing up. While dancing around the world as a young adult it was easy to stay fit. Seeing my friends and colleagues struggle to maintain their physical health as they retired from dance inspired me to aim higher. But despite my best efforts, I still found myself struggling to prioritize my health between family life and a 9-to-5.

Once I was pain-free and physically active again, I realized that the methods I used could help others like me who wanted the same but didn’t have the framework to make it happen. So I made it my mission to help as many people as possible create healthy physical habits and a better life for themselves and their families.
